On the campaign trail, President Trump made a promise the experts loved to mock: he would bring the factories home. The numbers are now in, and the verdict is no longer in doubt. America is in the middle of a manufacturing renaissance — and it is unfolding exactly as promised.
This is not a talking point. It is a turning point — and it lands three months before the midterms.
The Numbers Don’t Lie
In July, American factories expanded at their fastest pace in more than four years. The Institute for Supply Management’s Manufacturing PMI climbed to 55.6 — up from 53.3 — the seventh straight month of growth and the strongest reading since May 2022[3][4] — a sharp reversal from an industry the last administration left in contraction for nearly every month it held office.
The details are even better than the headline. Production surged to 58.5, its highest level since November 2021 and the biggest jump for any July since 1951. Factory employment moved back into expansion for the first time in 33 months, new export orders flipped firmly back into growth, and fifteen of eighteen manufacturing industries reported gains.[1] When the data breaks four-year and seven-decade records in the same month, that is not luck. That is policy working.
Real Raises for Real Workers
This boom is not confined to the boardroom — it is landing in the paychecks of working Americans. Manufacturing wages climbed 4.2% over the past year, outpacing inflation and delivering a real raise, not a paper one.[1] The Federal Reserve itself confirms the expansion is nationwide, with activity, payrolls, and wages all rising across the country.
The engine behind it is President Trump’s Working Families Tax Cuts, which the White House and the National Association of Manufacturers credit with supporting six million American jobs, protecting $540 billion in worker wages, and preserving $1.1 trillion in U.S. economic activity.[5] This is what America First economics looks like when it is actually enacted: more jobs, higher pay, and industry roaring back to life.
The World Is Betting on America Again
Nothing tells the story better than where the world’s biggest companies are putting their money — and right now, they are putting it here. Just this week, Swiss medicine maker Octapharma announced a $1.5 billion investment to build its first-ever U.S. plant, creating 1,500 jobs.[2] It joins a stampede of reshoring:
- Novartis — $23 billion across ten U.S. facilities, roughly 4,000 jobs.
- Roche — $50 billion in U.S. manufacturing and R&D, more than 12,000 jobs.
- TSMC — a staggering $265 billion in American chipmaking.
- Toyota — $3.6 billion to expand its San Antonio truck plant, 2,000 jobs.
- UCB, Siemens, and Wistron with NVIDIA — billions more in new American production lines.
The forward indicators are just as strong. The White House points to Atlanta Fed projections of roughly 6.2% annualized growth in the third quarter, business investment up 11.7% last quarter, 83,000 new factory-construction jobs since Inauguration Day, and more than 18,000 manufacturing jobs created in 2026 alone.[1]
Strength Abroad, Strength at Home
This is the same doctrine — Peace Through Strength — turned inward. The resolve that brought the Iranian regime to the table and reopened the Strait of Hormuz[8] is the same resolve now rebuilding the industrial base at home. A nation that mines its own minerals, forges its own steel, and builds its own chips is a nation no adversary can hold hostage. Strength abroad and strength at home are not two stories — they are one.
The Case for November
Here is why this matters beyond the balance sheet. In three months, Americans vote in the midterms, and the choice could not be clearer. One party has a record: the strongest factory expansion in four years, rising wages, and trillions in new investment. The other party has a resistance — a coalition whose agenda begins and ends with opposing everything the President accomplishes.
Republicans understand the stakes and are on offense. The party heads into the cycle with a record war chest — reported at $128.5 million, the largest in RNC history — after raising $172 million in 2025[6]. Chairman Joe Gruters says Republicans are “united, disciplined, and on offense,” and the committee has cleared the way for a first-ever midterm convention[7]. That same team has already made election integrity a permanent, year-round campaign heading into 2026[9] — because a booming economy deserves an honest ballot to match[10].
“We’re building on the momentum of the last cycle heading into 2026, so Americans can have confidence in our elections going into the midterms.”
— Joe Gruters, Chairman, Republican National Committee
Promises Made, Promises Kept
The pattern of this presidency is the same one that has defined it from the start: bold promises, followed by real results, followed by a media class scrambling to explain away good news. Let them scramble. The workers on those factory floors know exactly who fought for them. As I wrote on our 250th Independence Day, our greatest years are ahead[11] — and the factories humming across this country are the proof.
This November, the question before the American people is simple. Do we return to managed decline and shuttered plants — or do we keep building? President Trump has shown us what winning looks like. The task now is to send him a Congress that will help him finish the job.
God bless the American worker, God bless President Trump, and God bless these United States of America.
