History says the party in power loses ground in its first midterm. The Republican National Committee is building a machine designed to prove history wrong. Working hand-in-hand with President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and the White House, the RNC is fighting every single day to protect our majorities in the House and the Senate — and give President Trump a full four years to finish the job.

The Headwinds — And Why This Year Is Different
The math has never been kind to the party in the White House. Historically, that party faces strong headwinds in the midterms.¹ In fact, only four times in the last 150 years has the incumbent party gained seats in a midterm election.² But 2026 doesn’t have to follow the script. This year, Republicans can defy history — because of President Trump, his historic record of accomplishments for the American people, and his unmatched ability to turn Republican voters out.³

Securing the Ballot: A Multimillion-Dollar Ground Game
Earlier this year, the RNC launched a multimillion-dollar election integrity push,⁴ hiring directors in 17 states to recruit poll workers, poll watchers, and election observers.⁵ The initial field investment targets the battlegrounds that will decide both the midterms and the 2028 presidential race — building the eyes and ears on every vote cast and counted.⁵
The initial battlegrounds include:
- Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and North Carolina — core swing states where a handful of ballots can decide control of Congress.⁵
- Plus other key states — part of a permanent, year-round operation backed by legal muscle and disciplined field organizing.⁴
The Secret Weapon: President Trump
When it comes to winning in November, the RNC has been blunt about its single biggest advantage — President Trump himself.⁷ He is going to barnstorm the country, campaign shoulder-to-shoulder with Republican candidates, and energize the base so our voters show up and deliver a win.¹
“We’ve got to make sure we turn our voters out, and we’ve got to make sure we have people energized. And there’s nobody who can energize our base more than President Trump.”¹
The Biggest War Chest in Party History
Winning takes resources — and the RNC is raising them at a record pace. Working with finance chair Vice President JD Vance, the party has built the biggest war chest in its history.⁶
- $128 million cash on hand — the highest month-end total ever recorded by the RNC.⁶
- Zero debt — every dollar raised goes straight toward electing Republicans.⁶
- Record momentum — driven by President Trump and Vice President Vance expanding both major-donor and grassroots support.⁶
That war chest matters, because Democrats and left-wing dark money groups are preparing to spend hundreds of millions to prop up their radical candidates. The RNC is fighting every day to make sure Republicans have the resources they need to win.
“Thanks to President Trump and Vice President Vance, Republicans head into the midterms with the biggest war chest in our history — and we intend to spend as many dollars as possible supporting our candidates.”⁶
What’s at Stake in November
The choice could not be clearer. If we want President Trump to have a full, four-year runway to enact his agenda, Republicans have to show up and keep our majorities in Congress. If Democrats seize control, they’ll do nothing but launch sham investigations and impeachments to obstruct the President at every turn.
Americans have already seen what the first year of this administration delivered — and in November, they can vote to keep it coming. The RNC, President Trump, Vice President Vance, and allies across the conservative movement are all in, building the war chest, protecting the ballot, and backing the candidates it takes to defy history and win.
